La Nueva Arcadia is a ongoing exploration initiated in 2020 as part of the federal grant for artists Jóvenes Creadores 2020-2021 from the Programa de Apoyo para la Creación Artística (FONCA) and the Secretaria de Cultura in Mexico City.
The project seeks to explore and juxtapoze concepts from the mythical city of Arcadia and the contemporary urban landscapes. I designed and co-created a series of objects using materials and processes endemic to the natural and urban contexts near the Bosque de Chapultepec and situating the designer and artisan as characters of creation of beauty and poetry.
The first phase of the project culminated in a group meditation and weaving activity in the park,with the intention to spend som nice time outside, gather as a group to enjoy refreshments and indulge in the idle space of the mind and body.
